Hyperlocal Events: The Age Old Question
For as long as time has existed there has always been one age old question and it goes something like this.

………What’s going on?
…………… What are you doing tonight?
Local events are the lifeblood of any community. They create the ebb and flow of how individuals interact, relate and engage with one another. Events establish the norms and social code of ethics that allow communities to function and participate together.
As a media professional and or small business owner it becomes your responsibility to understand when, where and how the local events are occurring so that you can maintain a finger on the pulse.
Your understanding and mastery of how to find, follow and track local events, you will allow you to discover some of the most interesting, inside stories of your community and its surroundings.
From the local bible study to the little league baseball game. The artisans market, to the Lions Club fundraiser annual bazaar. The opening of the farmers market to the new restaurant and private book reading. Something interesting is always on the verge of happening and it’s your job to as a media professional to know!
Getting connected at a hyperlocal level always involves staying updated with local events!
By being involved, staying connected and understanding the impact of hyperlocal events and processes behind them, the more advantage you will have to truly serving and understanding your community, it’s citizens and needs.
