NIN Hyperlocal Iphone APP

The band Nine Inch Nails has taken things to the next level by launching their very own hyperlocal iphone app. Now fans of the band can find and locate other fans around the globe and hyperlocally connect about what they care about most.

The NIN acess map can be found here . Each point on the map represents a message sent from locations around the world. The app has also been built with the intention of allowing fans to collaborate and aggregate photos, videos, comments and essentially live discussions around NIN concerts around the world. Fans can exchange messages and photos with other NIN fans or post them into the greater NIN online community for all to see.

Using the iphone’s built in GPS system the app takes your location and allows you to have conversations with other fans who are nearby. The app then lets you drill down and search from within 2 to 10 miles of proximity for conversations to join in on. The app is built into NIN’s private social network, allowing you to see member profiles and more. You also have the ability make your location fuzzy so that other users won’t have an exact idea of where you are posting from.{{{0}}}

The app is tied into Google earth. As you scroll the earth you will be able to zoom in by location to engage in conversations. The app is 100% free and an excellent example of hyperlocal relevancy.
