SURVIVING WITH CASH In The Hyperlocal Game
I know you’ve heard this before but I just thought
I would take a quick opportunity to say it again.
In the hyperlocal game – CASH IS KING!
Cash allows you to crush competitors or to out weather the storm on those long, cold and lonely nights.
(I know you know what I am talking about)
Sure giant venture capitalists can bleed like pigs …and survive
…but you CAN’T!
They make it look so easy, all their great ideas, big technology, cool apps
and sweet new pitches.
But deep down you know it won’t last… it can’t.
It’s the white elephant in the room and though they keep spending to
hit they pot of gold in the hyperlocal drill down..
THEY WON’T
Everyone knows this…
That’s why all the wise are sitting and waiting… patiently…
And that’s why you never tried it yourself – You Know how to survive… how to make it to the end… and you’ve got your priorities set – KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE MONEY.
Take your time and hunker down. – This is not a get rich quick venture.
Surviving is the name of the game and wasteful spending won’t give you
any necessary advantage.
In this hyperlocal gold rush… and you can get all hot and frenzied that
your going to strike it rich or, you can take it with stride…. Knowing that the best things come to those who can wait.
Conserve your resources, plan wisely and …EXECUTE RAPIDLY!
Trust me it’s not worth it when the price you pay is with YOUR OWN cash.
In the Hyperlocal Marketing Game – Cash is king
and you need to remember this.
Sure you might have another angle that’s better, faster or more efficient.
You might even have more readers, better stats and over all better customer service but at the end of the day.
…If your wallet’s empty and you can’t spend to run your business professionally.
…To pay and pull in more and more local prospects
you’re in a losing proposition.
When we first launched LocalsGuide we launched a full on guerilla assault onto our
competitors… I spent furiously and invested in infastructure that was far superior than that of the competitors…
We hit them hard and certainly took a chunk of the pie… but they survived… why?

So you either out weather the storm or.. .wait till the time is right, spend very wisely
and execute very, very rapidly
I was lucky… I had mentors and coaches who kept me in line,
reminding me constantly that the key was in surviving.
“It’s not the snow that kills you, wrap it around you and you will be warm… it’s the wind that kills.”
